Although it is observed frequently with women, deformation and loosening of the abdominal skin due to excessive weight gain is observed at both genders. The most common reason with women is pregnancy. The loosening of the abdominal skin occurs not only due to accumulated fat, but the rupture and separation of the muscle caused by the fat cells. Operation process: The operation is performed under general anesthesia and has two options, a mini abnominoplasty and normal abnominoplasty. The first is suitable for minor corrections and the later for more extreme cases. Both require a liposuction to be followed by the correction of muscle tissue and the skin. A drain is inserted to discard fluids that may build up and the entire operation lasts up to 2 hours. Any incisions made are hidden in skin folds, in the bikini area. If there is no skin extension, only liposuction is made to remove fat

Post operation care: hospital stay up to one day is required and the patient should rest for a few more at home. In order to facilitate blood circulation, walking is highly recommended, bed rest is not preferred even though patients have difficulty in standing up straight. The drains are removed the day after the operation. The bruises and swelling will heal in time, and final results will be visible in a few months. If liposuction is made, wearing the corset is required and the patient can return to his or her daily life in a week.
